"Yours Or Mine" by Annie Hayward

I am the songwriter, Richard J Higgins, and I wrote this lockdown song for my sister Annie Hayward who was widowed in 2012 and since that time has lived alone, 300 miles away from me (she, in Manningtree, Essex and me, in Rowlands Gill, Tyne & Wear) and even further from her daughter Lucy, who lives in Cannes, France. As much talked about in Radio and TV news streams, the Covid-19 pandemic has been particularly tough for all those people living alone. As youngsters back in the 1950’s we used to sing and record together at home. After a break of some 40 years, we have re-kindled this hobby – made possible over the distance by digital recording technology and internet connectivity – and it helps occupy her during these lonely days of lockdown.
