The Plague - The Renegades

The band wrote this song during the first lockdown in frustration at how our lives had ground to a halt and we were all stuck indoors. The singer/songwriter was on furlough and looking for a way to express the myriad of emotions he was feeling – the ‘coronacoaster’ of his mood swings. The guitarist subsequently wrote a melody and recorded a demo at home and various band members then contributed their parts remotely. Writing songs was one way that helped the band cope with all our difficult situations. We were very proud that despite being amateurs – a band of 1990s university friends who had never played music until 5 years ago – we could make a song remotely during lockdown.
