The Grayhound, The Changing Room

Submitted by: Tanya B.

Original Song

The Grayhound was a three-masted Customs Lugger built in 1776 in Cawsand, Cornwall. This song evokes the spirit of the Greyhound and was written by members of the local community. Music by Tanya Brittain. Lyrics written by Tanya Brittain, Michael Williams and Sam Kelly.

A 5/6th scale replica of the Grayhound was built by Marcus and Freya Pomeroy-Rowden in 2012 and this song was written to celebrate her launch. The lugger now carries a Category 0 licence for world-wide travel under sail. She can carry 12 passengers and a crew of 5. She is armed with two cannons.
