On New Year’s Eve – thoughts from Torbay. Put into Tier 3 last night apparently to stop people from coming to visit us from higher tier areas (according to our local MP).

We have had a series of cruise ships anchored in the bay over the last six months or so. In warm storage. Should they ever go back to sea? Cruising has to be seen as an uneccessary activity, and the ships burn the dirtiest fuels, but they provide employment and take tourists to centres which rely on them. I don’t have an answer, I am just asking the questions.

Update: Today (13th March 2021), there are four ships in Torbay. Not going anywhere soon.
