I wrote this song mid-way through 2020. Although instrumental, it is divided into 3 parts. The first part “I’ve never seen anything like this before” reflects the dawning realisation of how big the pandemic was – on a global scale – and images of deserted cities across the world loomed large. The middle 8 is more upbeat and reflects the collective mood of the public during the summer of 2020 – beaches were packed, people ate out etc. The final part expresses a sense of foreboding of the winter to come.
I wish I could have written appropriate lyrics, but they were never my strong point! Neither is my singing voice.
