The theme tune to The Sound of Music by Julie Andrews

Submitted by: Margery H.

For 120 days through the first and second lockdowns, the theme tune to The Sound of Music was played at 1pm from a window overlooking the village square in Broadwindsor, Dorset, followed each day by a different, uplifting song requested by residents. The songs were played through festival-quality speakers so they could be heard throughout the local community. The plan is that the songs can be used as a soundtrack for a village party once restrictions are over. The village, in the far west of the county, sits beneath Lewesdon Hill and Pilsdon Pen, the two highest points in Dorset.
