I wrote this song in 2016, & recorded it for my album (of that year) ‘Reversing Sideways In An Upwards Direction’. Listening to it, I think the mood reflects how a lot of us are feeling right now – waiting for that moment when something will happen, like a chance encounter, that signals all is (at last) well. I usually write uplifting songs, so this one is a bit different for me. I tried singing it the other day, but found it difficult to hold back the emotion welling up inside. I can usually hold back the emotion. The pandemic has changed all that. However, I’m an optimistic person, so we WILL get beyond all this.
