'Children of The Nine O'Clock Service' by The Cathode Sea

Original Song

This song was written and recorded during the full lockdown. Meetings via Zoom and Logic files shared back and forth between 4 separate homes..the track building and shaping as the process continued.. This track tells a story of the survivors of Sheffield in the 90’s and our children. Textured vocals with melodies that make us want to sing, harmonies that go places we might not expect, lyrics that tell stories about things we might not have thought about.. experiences that have shaped us individually and collectively, ideas that inspire, wordplay that feels like poetry. The work that has gone into making this track has been intricate, deliberate, focussed and informed by a collective imagination isolated in a Pandemic.
