'Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Prepared' - Keir C. Crawley

‘Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Prepared’ was composed and eventually recorded during the first national lockdown. The idea behind the song was to prepare Year 7 students for life in their new school during a pandemic. The lyrics, written by members of the Senior Leadership Team at Preston Manor School in Wembley, Brent convey a positive message of hope during challenging times. The song encourages pupils to be the ‘best that they can be’ in their academic studies as well as kindness and safety in the school and local community. The music was recorded, with social distancing, by staff at Preston Manor’s Saturday community music school whilst the school as a whole was learning online. Students in Year 7 learnt to perform the song using British Sign Language as an alternative to singing in class!
