A Time to Remember Music by Tracey Moule, Lyrics by Sue Hallett-Martin

The lyrics and music for the song came out of the sadness of our experiences in the past year, but also our gratitude for the tremendous sacrifices so many people have made. Sue’s mum lived in a nursing home and died of Covid 19 in May 2020. Tracey has cared for her very poorly mum throughout the pandemic. We both work in care homes, Tracey as a music therapist, Sue as a trustee. We have seen the worst of Covid 19 and the best.
At the beginning of 2021 it was tempting to want to make a new start and forget 2020 – the stress, anxiety, loss and grief. But we can’t forget our loved ones, nor the self-sacrifice and courage of everyone who helped us to get through. We wrote the song as a way of remembering with love and hope.
