Culture Recordings recorded a four-song EP ‘Islands’ with Josh Geffin in February 2020, just before the first lockdown. Mixing Josh’s wonderful songs was a tonic during these strange times; putting the headphones on and escaping from the horror of news coverage and the claustrophobia of lockdown into the pastoral beauty of Josh’s music helped keep us sane. I chose ‘Pages’ for the hope and optimism that shines though it – in Josh’s own words: ‘The song is about dissolution and renewal, about getting through the bad days and realising you’re more resilient than you think you are: life goes on, and some days it’s pretty good’.
