Let's Have A Quiet Night In -- Goldskool

Submitted by: Sylvia P.

Original Song

Written in London during the first Lockdown (March to June 2020), when there seemed little hope of ever going out again. We fantasised about things we missed but enjoyed indoor pursuits instead, most of which are featured here. This song documents our life, love and mental health during the pandemic, as the chaotic, hypocritical omnishambles unravelled outside. The lyric was inspired by a Porridge episode, A Night In, and we threw some French and Italian in there to promote London's multiculturalism.

The song was put together remotely using vocals, accordion loops and a legally cleared sample of local 90s indie band Moral Panic. For those suffering continued lockdowns, we hope this provides solace. x
