I Like My Coffee Black by Running With Scissors Band

This song was written and recorded during lockdown. We attend a weekly online open mic which has become a lifeline for all involved.The open mic has brought together, over the last 12 months, a range of musicians, in genre, ability and location. We have formed strong social bonds and value the community we have formed. Each week we have a challenge round, with a theme, which has encouraged us to learn new songs, explore new genres and, for some of us, to write new songs. The theme for the challenge round for which we wrote this song was ‘food and drink’. This song, for us, is special because it is a departure from our usual style and it is not something we would have written without the open mic.
