Hard Place to Be - Jack Blackman

I wanted to express the yearning for another place whilst being stuck somewhere you can’t escape. This world is a hard place to be for a lot of people, especially during these times.

In the song I express the difficulties which we are obliged to contend with & present our challenges within the metaphor of a journey we have little choice but to take.

“This world is a hard place to be for anyone” is a sentiment which will mostly likely still resonate in 2030 just it would probably have done so in 1930.

It was recorded live and at home, in a solo situation on an acoustic guitar with a tapping foot, just like I would have performed it if I were able to live in a folk or blues club somewhere up and down this country had I been able to gig.
