Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be 2020!

During lockdown last Autumn I rewrote the lyrics for Lionel Bart’s 1960 song “Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be” to reflect our current crisis in a light-hearted, non-political parody. With so many sad stories around Covid this has really brought a smile to the faces of everyone who’s heard it.

The copyright holders SONY/ATV gave me clearance after 4 months to exploit my ‘New Version’ with me as Artist. My musical collaborator Jon Spanyol arranged and produced the track. It’s had some regional BBC airplay. One of the ladies in my community sing-along group said last week in an email “Your big break is just around the corner! ‘Fings’ will be such a fascinating and light hearted historical insight into our way of life in 2020 for generations to come.” That’s the hope 🙂
