Bench - The Lucky 12

Submitted by: Duncan W.

Original Song

I wrote this song after noticing the names of people on memorial benches on Castle Hill in Tenby. I read the name on each bench as I walked around the hill and realised that I had known many of the people who had benches dedicated to them in their memory. I think it was Terry Pratchett who said, “a man is not dead while his name is still spoken”, and it struck me what a good thing a memorial bench is – a place where we can sit and remember those we have lost.
