Amy Wadge and Tim Rhys Evans have written a new song inspired by the people of Wales, Just Breathe. The song premiered on St David’s Day (1 March 2022) at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, performed by the RWCMD Big Band and singers from choirs of The Aloud Charity, alongside an uplifting programme of music celebrating great Welsh composers.
It premiered online on 23rd March 2022, the 2nd anniversary of lockdown.
Just Breathe, A Song for Wales encapsulate the emotions we’ve all felt over the last two years, the fear and loneliness of being shut away from our nearest and dearest. It encourages everyone to take a breath, that powerful and literally life-giving force, and find hope and togetherness in the fact that we’re not alone, this worldwide pandemic is something we’ve all felt together. As the song says, “don’t you know that you were never on your own”.
