A Song For Us by Garstang Primary School

Commissioned by Sound UK for their A Song For Us project, More Music ran three songwriting workshops in different settings across Lancashire on the theme of community during the pandemic. We worked with children and young people from Stages at More Music, Garstang Primary School and Ridgewood Community High School.

I was scared just like being in the dark
Couldn’t exercise or go to the park
Freedom, but only for an hour
Felt like I was helpless like I didn’t have the power
Feeling trapped, always stuck inside
Made me feel shy, all I could do was hide
Didn’t have to get up, so I got lazy
This whole situation has got me going crazy
